Privacy Statement

Below you will find the full privacy statement concerning usage of the website as well as the RELAN program. Ahead of the full text we want to express our commitment to data protection, fair and limited use of user data and respect towards the privacy of individuals. With that in mind we do not collect or store any data that is not directly required for license processing, legally required storage of tax-related data or support of our users.

License acquisition

To use the RELAN Software without limitations (non-trial version), it is necessary to complete the purchase of a license and provide personal data in order to attach a license to your credentials. The personal data received is strictly confidential and will not be passed on to third parties. The personal data is used only for the discreet allocation of the license as well as for the notification of new updates or possible program innovations, if the user agrees to this during the opt-in for e-mail notifcations.

Currently the only information required for issuing a license is the users' e-mail address.

Personal data used for purchases and orders

As stated by Austrian law any business selling products or services to clients or customers is required to issue an invoice and/or receipt of the purchase and retain a copy for its own fiscal documentation and for possible inspection by government and legal entities, especially but not limited to tax authorities. This obligation ends after 7 years at the end of that calendar year after which we will delete any personal information no longer legally required.

Please be advised that we are unable to clear your personal data connected to purchases and financial transactions as required by the European GDPR even at direct request until the above mentioned retention period has expired after which we will do this automatically.
Also, be advised that entering false or fraudulent information during a purchase process is prohibited and punishable to the full extent of the applicable laws.

Cookie policy

The RELAN website utilizes a limited use of cookies. The underlying server-side programming framework uses cookies to enable user-sessions on the website. This is a purely functional feature that enables consistency in user experience between page-to-page navigation within the website and no personal nor trackable information is stored in these cookie-enabled sessions whatsoever.

At no point during visiting the website or purchasing a license do we:

• Store personal or trackable user-data in cookies for analytical, tracking, advertising or marketing purposes
• Share any such data with third parties
• Use third-party services and cookies on our website

Therefore we also do not offer a disrupting cookie opt-in/opt-out dialogue on our website. You can be confident that on our website your browser's features will not be exploited and no personal data either surveyed, kept or transfered.

Payment processes are handled via Stripe. Please refer to their privacy statement on Stripe.com for information regarding the payment process.

License validation

During validation of your license in the RELAN Software the entered license information will be sent to our server and checked for in the database. An internet connection is required during that process and might be required periodically again to re-validate the license. We also retain logs of successful and unsuccessful attempts to validate license information which will be stored in our database together with the IP address that made the verification request towards the server.
This information is kept for the justified business interest of identifying license fraud and software piracy, but also to be able to provide support to our customers in case of license issues.
